Sodium perborate monohydrate is used widely in detergent and cleaning formulations to provide a bleaching action which maintains fabric whiteness and colour brightness while effectively removing wine, fruit, coffee, tea and other stains without damaging fibres.

Sodium perborate monohydrate with its high available oxygen content, excellent stability at higher temperatures and humidity and a fast rate of dissolution at low temperatures is an ideal bleach for washing at low temperature in climates with high ambient tempatures.

For washing at low temperatures sodium perborate monohydrate is often combined with bleach activators, such as tetra acetyl-ethylene-diamine (TAED) or sodium nonanoyl-oxybenzene-sulphonate (NOBS), which generate peracids in situ.

The characteristics of sodium perborate monohydrate, such as high available oxygen content and low moisture content, mean that sodium perborate monohydrate is ideal for use in dishwashing and denture cleaning tablets formulations.
