Hydrochloric Acid is mainly a by-product of Chlorinated Intermediates, manufactured as follows:

RH + Cl₂ ® RCl + HCl or RCl+ HF® RF + HCl

Hydrochloric Acid is highly corrosive. It produces toxic gases in contact with Sodium Hypochlorite. This product has to be handled with appropriate precautions.
