Methylene chloride (Dichloromethane - CH2Cl2) is a colourless, volatile, non flammable liquid, with a mild sweet odor.  It is a non ozone depleting solvent.

Thanks to its excellent solvent power, volatility and non flammability, methylene chloride can be used whenever a good solvent for organic compound is required.
