Solvay Chemicals e-Business Policy
After nearly 10 years of internet hype, the e-channels of today are well integrated into Solvay Chemicals International’s multi channel offers. Our e-channel offers are adapted for different business processes, whether on order-to-cash or on VMI/VMOI, and for different partners, customer or logistics service providers in various market segments, and are listed below : a) System to System integrations with our partners, preferably through Elemica, THE Chemicals Industry’s global B2B-Hub (www.elemica.com). We prefer Elemica due to its “connect once – connect to all” approach, which in itself is the best and most cost effective way to do a system to system integration for all partners in the value chain. b) www.solvay4me.com is our Extranet for versatile and individual information exchange with customers; our web-solutions for Logistics service providers (www.internet4hauliers.com); and our terminal and warehouse management provider (www.stock4solvay.com). These all offer multiple services over the complete order-to-cash cycle : c) Electronic Billing Services, in full compliance with the European Directive 2001/115/EC as well as the main national laws having transposed that directive, signature System-to-System-Integration. d) Development of further new Business models using the Internet as the driver for new business opportunities. Recent example is the go-live of the new direct sales channel Esolion (www.esolion.com), which serves specific customer segments under well defined rules and attractive pricing.
