The Strategic Business Unit Solvay Barium Strontium is a member of the international Solvay group. As such, we are represented in over 100 countries by branch offices or independent sales agents. Since 1996, all activities are concentrated at the strategic business unit Barium Strontium comprising 4 regional business units. Certain fields of the sales organizations of Nippon Solvay in Japan and Solvay Performance in USA being responsible for sales activities in the South East Asia Region and Nafta, are linked to this strategic business unit.

Barium Carbonate Barium Carbonate is manufactured from natural barium sulphate (baryte).

Barium Chloride Barium Chloride Dihydrate is used in waste water treatement, the production of PVC stabilizers, oil lubricants, barium chromate and barium fluoride.

Barium Hydroxide Barium Hydroxide is available as Monohydrate and Octahydrate.

Blanc Fixe Chemically precipitated Barium Sulphate with main application as filler in paints, coatings, pigments and plastics, and as functional additive in batteries.

Ground Sulphur Solvay Ground Sulphur is produced from liquid sulphur with a very high sulphur content of at least 99,95 %.

High Purity Products The Alkaline Earth High Purity (HP) product line is characterized by specific chemical and physical properties which are strictly controlled in all steps of the production process guided by our total quality management.
