Solvay Advanced Functional Minerals is supplier of a wide range of Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) produced under the trade names of SOCALâ and WINNOFILâ. The Business Unit also manufactures Magnesium Salts under the trade names of CARBOMAGâ, OSSIMAGâ and IDROMAGâ.  In line with Solvay’s corporate approach, Solvay Advanced Functional Minerals aims to utilise its combination of technical excellence, innovative power and customer focus, to make it the supplier of choice on a global basis. It offers, today, a wide range of products for a wide range of applications such as ink, paint, paper, adhesive & sealant, plastic and pharmaceutical. The properties of SOCALâ and WINNOFILâ such as fineness and grain size distribution, crystal structure, type and quantity of surface treatment determine the respective applications with regard to the optical, rheological, mechanical and other properties. Light and Heavy Magnesium Salts for Pharmaceutical and Technical applications are appreciated for their high chemical purity, fine particle size and free flowing properties. The Business Unit is headquartered in Angera (Italy) and supplies its customers throughout the world from its plants in Rheinberg (Germany), Lostock (UK), Salin-de-Giraud (France), Ebensee (Austria) and Angera (Italy).

Basic Magnesium Carbonate CARBOMAG® is the trade name of Light Basic Magnesium Carbonate with a typical apparent volume of 110g/l.

Fine uncoated PCC Solvay manufactures, under the trade name SOCAL®, a wide range of fine uncoated precipitated calcium carbonates with a specific surface ranging from 6 to 10m²/g.

Grippy Pure Basic Magnesium Carbonate studied for sport applications. Superb grip and excellent moisture absorption. Safe to use.

Magnesium Hydroxide IDROMAG® is the trade name for Heavy Magnesium Hydroxide pharmaceutical grade. Bulk density ranges from 400 to 1000 g/l.

Magnesium Oxide Different grades of Magnesium Oxide are available under the trade name OSSIMAG®. Light grade for pharmaceutical and technical applications and heavy grade for the pharmaceutical industry. Citric acid activity on request.

Ultrafine coated PCC Solvay manufactures, under the trade names SOCAL® and WINNOFIL®, a wide range of ultrafine coated precipitated calcium carbonates with a specific surface ranging from 20 to 35m²/g.

Ultrafine uncoated PCC Solvay manufactures, under the trade name SOCAL®, a wide range of ultrafine uncoated precipitated calcium carbonates with a specific surface of 20m²/g.
