Within the Chemicals Sector, the business policy is defined and implemented by 7 business units.

Worldwide, the Solvay presence, notably in terms of sales and marketing, is ensured through  regional organisations like national offices, affiliates, subsidiaries, … as well as local agents in the countries where Solvay doesn’t have its own organisation.

Solvay chemicals in smaller volumes are also commercialised through   chemical distributors.

Solvay chemicals are manufactured in about 40 plants, located all around the world.

The Solvay Group today is one of the world leaders in the field of chemicals.

Solvay's chemicals business is based on a well balanced product portfolio, made up of :

• Essentials (soda ash, caustic soda, hydrogen peroxide, persalts, barium and strontium carbonate, ...) in which the Group has a leadership position and significant competitive advantage,

and

• Specialties (fluorinated products, ultra fine fillers, caprolactones, ultra-pure hydrogen peroxide, refined bicarbonate, ultra-pure barium and strontium carbonates, ...) in growth, focused on markets with the greatest added value (electronics, telecommunications, ...).
