PROXITANE^Ò 5:23 is typically used as hard surface disinfectant after clean-up processes for equipment, containers, consumption vessels, surfaces or pipework associated with the production, transport, storage or consumption of food or beverages.

PROXITANE^Ò 5:23 is also used in automated cleaning (‘Clean-in-Place’) systems in large plants such as dairy, breweries, and soft drinks manufacture. The detergent and disinfectant solutions and rinse water are circulated through tanks, pipes and process lines without the equipment having to be dismantled

PROXITANE^Ò 5:23 is an effective bleach from pH 9 upwards and at low temperature washing conditions of 45-50° C as well as higher temperatures, thus effective over a wider range of conditions than hydrogen peroxide. The high effectiveness at low temperatures of PROXITANE^Ò 5:23 results in substantial energy savings and less potential for fabric damage. These advantages make it particularly attractive for conventional laundry services and especially laundry hire services.

Disinfection treatment is needed for disease control in a number of areas in the finfish and shellfish industries. High stocking in tanks, pens or ponds means that the fish are vulnerable to infections and pests. Infections can also spread via fish farm equipment and surfaces and during fish processing.
