Sulphur & derivatives

The production base for Solvay Ground Sulphur is Hydrogensulfide which is generated as a by-product in the manufacture of Barium- and Strontium Carbonate. With the aid of the Claus-process a very pure elemental Sulphur is produced.

Ground sulphur

Ground Sulphur of very high purity is available in different grades of fineness and also with the addition of mineral oil or pyrogenic silica. Ground Sulphur is mainly used in the rubber industry.

Liquid sulphur

Depending on availability, we also offer pure Liquid Sulphur for application in the chemical industry.

Sodium hydrosulphide

Sodium Hydrosulphide is applied in the leather industry, waste water treatment, soil remediation, the mining industry and pulp paper and amongst others.

Sodium sulphide

Sodium Sulphide is applied in the leather industry, waste water treatment, soil remediation, the mining industry and pulp paper and amongst others.

Sodium Tetra Sulphide

Sodium Tetra Sulphide is mainly applied in the leather industry and in the removal of mercury from flue gases.
