To best serve our final customers
In order to fulfill this Policy in an optimal way, Solvay is aiming for excellence in its own performance and is looking for the best partners in those areas which do not come within the scope of its core activities. Solvay considers chemical distributors as value added partners for supplying specific market segments, which Solvay itself is not in a position to serve as economically and efficiently.
Solvay will develop a relationship with a selected number of strong local or global chemical distributors with a view to providing the best service to end customers using our products, as well as to ensure the fulfillment of the Responsible Care commitment related to the distribution of its products.
What we offer
As a Global Chemical Supplier, we will focus on a long-term relationship with distributors. We aim to deliver quality products together with technical support and training by relying on our 145 years of experience of running world-wide operations (click here for more details).
What we require
We expect a full commitment to Responsible Care principles (including ESAD II). In addition, we will also look for a reliable long-term distributor with an adequate geographical coverage, sufficient market presence, the ability to distribute the full range of Chemicals products offered by Solvay, and state of the art logistic facilities (click here for more details).
Responsible Care
Solvay is committed to the Responsible Care® Program, which is the chemical industry’s voluntary commitment to constant improvements in performance with regards to health, safety and environmental protection.
As a consequence, we will require our partners, who serve our final customers, to commit to the responsible care principles in the same manner (click here for more details).
Selective Distribution for Healthcare Products
Solvay Chemicals International will operate a selective distribution policy for our healthcare products starting 1.1.2012 following internationally recognised standards.
Pricing policy
Prices between Solvay and its distributors will be negotiated in good faith, taking all factors into account in order to meet the annual sales targets and to allow supplier and distributor to generate adequate margins.
